Behind Bars

Welcome to the official inaugural blog post on the Dave Dunne Photography Blog. Yes, there have been other test blog posts before this but this one is the first “official” post.

As some of you may already know, I have another blog called Blur Dot Blog where I used to post everything. I will continue to maintain that blog but from now on I plan to use it for my toy camera, low fidelity photography and I will use this new blog for everything else.

I also have a new twitter account to go along with the blog @davedunnephoto so please follow me if you wish. I may start up a Facebook page but I don’t use Facebook too often so perhaps I will hold off for a while.

I plan to use this blog to showcase new photographs as I create them and to do reviews and overviews of the tools I use. Elsewhere on the site, I will be expanding the portfolio section as themes and galleries become apparent to me.

And just so you know, the blog template is still a work in progress so some features are turned off. I am having a problem with my comments template so there will be no comments until I figure out how to fix it. You can always send me an email using the link on the about page if you need to get in touch.

So to get started, here is a photograph I took earlier today in Santa Cruz, California. The photo was taken on the boardwalk with my latest acquisition, a Leica M2. The lens used is a cheap Jupiter 8 I picked up on eBay a few weeks ago. I shot this photograph on Arista Premium 400 (which rumors say is Kodak Tri-X reboxed by Freestyle Photo) and I am fairly happy with the results.
